Achiote is a seed that comes from a bush commonly found in Southern Mexico, Central and South America.

Thanks to its distinctive red colour, it is used to add colour to food, such as a variety of Cheeses like Cheddar or Mimolette. It is also widely used in Latin American and Caribbean kitchens not only to bring colour to food but also as a condiment, adding a distinctive flavour to the dishes.
It can be found in different forms; Whole, in powder and as a paste.
